Mind BLOWN

So since I'm writing a nautical short story (see my last post), I Googled "boating terms" since I am a total idiot at boating ("that's the uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......wheel?"). The results?

HOLY HEARTATTACK, BATMAN!

My first choice on Google lead me to this website called The Phrontistery and it's basically the epitome of obscure knowledge. There's a whole two foot long list of nautical boating words.

It's too much to process. And I'm just sitting here like:

This is the best thing that's happened to my writer life since Thesaurus.com

Short Story

Of course when trying to wrap up some last-ditch effort writing for Camp NaNoWriMo on the LAST day, I lie awake last night scheming up ideas for a new short story based off the Celtic Thunder song "Home from the Sea" (might even put it out here when I'm done:). I'm about to start writing, but first I have to decide which cover I created I like better. Inspiration is vital!
I'm thinking I like the first one better. But we'll see.

A Celtic Thunder Epiphany!

*Drumroll*......I have recently found Celtic Thunder Radio!!! It's amazing!! I can now listen to songs with only a few seconds clips of Keith Harkin singing without having to buy the whole song :D
Here's the link. Listen away!

It's A Major Award!

I've been nominated by my dear friend Julia over at Running Through The Stars (which if you haven't checked out, you should. RIGHT. NOW.) for the Very Inspiring Blog Award!
Here are the rules:
List the rules and display the award
Share 7 facts about yourself
Nominate 15 other amazing blogs and comment on their posts to let them know you have nominated them
Proudly display the badge.

Now, I don't know 15 other bloggers, so this part is kind of hard for me. But it's really cool to be nominated nevertheless :).

1. I dislike most breakfast foods. Pancakes, waffles, you name it, I probably hate it

2. I would probably buy all my clothes at Tractor Supply if I could. Yesterday I bought the COOLEST shirt there. I want one in every color now. If only I had $10 to spend per 4 more shirts. But is that not an AWESOME print?! It's super soft too!

3. I am OBSESSED with anything medical. In tv, movies, books, everything. I almost always include something wrong with a character in my books (sometimes I wonder if I do it too often, but then I think "heck, it's MY book!"). I took a Anatomy and Physiology class last semester just because I wanted to and it was  a lot of work but so awesome. Plus, I got a 97% A over all grade! Woot woot! :D

4. I am usually a pretty good techie but this blogging thing has me mind boggled. There's so much I don't know how to do :/

5. A major pet peeve of mine is other people's elbows touching my elbows. Like, continuously while riding in a cramped car or something. I can barely think of something else so annoying.

6. Scratch that, loud chewing/slurping is the WORST. I think I have a mental issue with that.

7. Emmet Cahill's rendition of the Coldplay song "Fix You" is heartbreakingly wonderful. I'm listening to it right now. I liked the original version, but then I heard Emmet's and it's like my life will never be the same. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxZhMCgg9YM

Somewhere You'd Like to Live

Word Challenge Day 28

Somewhere you'd like to live or visit.

Wow. There's two amazing places I want to talk about. Actually, make that three.

The Beach We'll start with the beach. I don't know if it's just the summer weather lately but I want to live on a beach. The water, the waves, the sunsets, the hot days, everything. I crave it lately.

London I want to visit London so bad it physically hurts sometimes. To experience a new way of life. Life is so different everywhere you go, it's amazing really!! The accents, the words, the foods, the people, the atmosphere, the EVERYTHING. I've seriously considered moving there, but I don't even know where I'd begin with that. But it seems amazing, everything about it. Very fast-paced and different from things now. It'd be a cool change.

Ireland THIS WOULD BE AMAZING. Aren't the Irish some cool people? I think they are! Their lives are so much simpler and definitely different from the quick moving city life of London but more put together than the beach. Their heritage, their history, accents, food, and once again way of living are so intricate and astounding. Culture seems amazing and I want to devour it.

Nail Polish and Mascara Review

Day 2 of blogging, and I decided I want to do some reviews of the products I use everyday. These two are fairly new items.

What I'm wearing...
Maybelline Colossal Mascara (Black)🌠🌠🌠🌠
NYC Liquid Eyeliner (Black)🌠🌠🌠
Ulta Brand Automatic Eyeliner (Moss) 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠

I have a confession...I am a mascara freak. Whew! Feeling better now that I just said it :). I am totally nutty if the stuff is not to my liking. That's why it takes some deliberating before I make any rash decisions when I need to buy a new one. My go-to usual is Maybelline Rocket Volume, but I decided to try something new this time (plus this was one of the last Maybelline mascara's left, since I've tried most of them). The application is a bit more work than I find usually, and the stuff is kind of wet. But I like it alright. It's not the best and it's not the worst I've tried, it's just okay in my opinion. 3½-4 stars?

What I'm wearing...
Revlon Colorstay Nail Polish (Rain Forest)🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
I don't think the pictures do this stuff justice. I was in the checkout line at Ulta over the weekend and saw this in the clearance bin for $1.99 (original price $7.99). I've been wearing it for the past four days (with showering!) and it hasn't even started chipping yet, plus it dried really smooth and shiny. I find it to be even better than Essie. And the color is amazing up close! The original price is a bit high for me, but I will definitely be buying more of this stuff on sale/clearance. Definitely a 5 star product.

Five Ways to Win Your Heart

Back in June I took up a 30 day writing challenge that was lots of fun. But no one ever read them. SO. I will try to space it out but I want to post some of them for your reading enjoyment while I figure out this blog thing. Here's the first one :).

Five Ways to Win Your Heart

1. Someone who is genuinely kind.

2. An understanding listener. I love swapping stories with people, as long as I do get to say some on my part :).

3. A good sense of humor is completely necesery.

4. Someone who's not overly showy, more quiet/soft-spoken people are usually more my type I like to be around.

5. Someone who loves God above all is always attractive!

Blogs of Friends

Since I'm really new and still trying to figure this out, I decided I'll just make a post about this.
Here's some lovely blogs run by some even lovelier ladies.

First, mosey on over to Katherine Knits if you like knitting, yarn, and other cozy projects. Rumor has it this lovely lass might even be starting a food blog too! (And let me tell you, she knows about G-O-O-D food!:). So much win.

And secondly, if you enjoy books, reading, writing, fandoms, and lots in between, you should really check out my gal Julia's blog. There's book reviews, too! She's written at least over 10 books (to my knowledge) and always has more up her sleeve (I hope she doesn't mind me saying that:).

So what do you say? Go check 'em out!
